Knowledge Sharing with ILBS
One of our major aims is to establish a knowledge base and education facility for members which will enhance their abilities in management and leadership.
As ILBS never wants to merely copy existing patterns, we are challenged to find new ways of teaching and organizing our educational program in such a way that ILBS members will become known for their ability to manage and to lead.
The following guidelines are suggested:
Below are some proposals for experimentation:
We do not employ lecturers but utilise the skills to be found amongst society members - The platform and courses offered should be largely self-administering and the main revenue should go to those providing the teaching.
- Methods can include live teaching as well as correspondence and e-learning.
- There should be as little administration as possible.
- There should be a wide range of subjects - not just classical business studies.
- The gaining of qualifications through examinations and marks should not be the purpose but rather the satisfactory completion of learning goals.
- Any member should be able to offer a course (which may have to be approved by someone appointed by the board).
- The teaching member decides content, method of presentation and evaluation, minimum and maximum number of students and cost of course.
- A small percentage of the funds received would be contributed to ILBS, while remaining income would be retained by the teacher.
- Administration should be decentralized and highly automated to minimize overheads
These are just preliminary suggestions and food for thought. If you haveideas you would like to contribute, please write these into the forum.
